About Me
Based in Ohio, I am a senior in high school. As a child, I've always loved crafting. From cardboard claw machines with rubber band mechanics to popup scrap books to shaping plastic by melting it with the tip of my hot glue gun, my passion stemmed from 2016 YouTube DIY videos that would leave me running around my house collecting materials to replicate crafts. As I grew older, I narrowed my focus to sewing/ fashion designing but still occasionally explored other art forms like 3D modeling.
As a self taught designer, I enjoy constructing with mixed mediums. While I have experience in standard sewing and fabric, I'm fascinated by unconventional and bio-materials (plastic, algae, paper, etc) because I could challenge myself and manipulate the medium in ways fabric can't to create complex, unique garments.
Sustainability and transforming these materials to live more than one life cycle is another major concern of mine. As I continue my career, I want my creations to serve a purpose and continue to inspire others by illustrating that materials can be reengineered in ways that are functional and beautiful.
